During this time he won the Austrian magic championship many times\, and had his very own national TV-Show\, featuring his magic. 2015 he won second prize at the FISM world championship of magic in Rimini in parlor magic. He is known for his magical style of performing\, as well as very clever and practical methods. Wolfgang not only creates new and creative effects\, but he especially likes to revive old classics with some new thinking.\n\nIn this Lecture Wolfgang will share some his favorite effects for close-up and stage\, but also reveal his most versatile tool he uses in many of his routines. It was a real pleasure to see.”\nwww.MagicWeek.com \nThe Modern Magic Lecture\nWednesday\, January 31\, 19:00\nThe Magic Circle’s Close-up Magician of the Year 2015\, Dr Will Houstoun\, has completed a PhD in Victorian Conjuring\, holds Fellowships with The Magic Castle (LA) and the Victoria and Albert Museum (London)\, and is back with a new lecture based around his DVD set\, “Modern Magic”. During the lecture Will will teach a selection of card and coin magic that is suitable for close-up and parlour and on which he has been booked to lecture around the world\, including multiple appearances at The Magic Castle and The Magic Circle.\n\nThe material that will be taught ranges from easy to intermediate difficulty and will all be taught thoroughly\, with a view to explaining the details that really make the effects work\, as well as something of the history behind them.\nA sample of the material being taught in the lecture:\n\nThe card trick that Will performed on the TV-show The Next Great Magician will also be taught:\n \nThe magic Will Houstoun presents is not only baffling\, it’s beautifully performed and clearly explained with reference to provenance.
