You will get hundreds of ideas\, and any idea not written down will be instantly forgotten.\nYou will probably want to document some of the work you do\, so make sure you have plenty of free memory in your devices so you can film and photograph your ideas. One hour each day is dedicated to Documentation\, at 5 PM.\nIt might also be nice to share one’s notes with the group\, via some internet solution; Google Docs\, Dropbox… \nFor Leif’s classes:\nBring a non-magic related item from home. Something ordinary. Can be anything\, but you should be able to throw it around without it breaking. \nFor the propmaking classes:\nIt is good if you have clothes that you don’t have to be very careful with\, preferably clothes made of natural fibers (cotton\, linen…). Tight fitting clothes are better than loose fitting clothes that can can get caught in things. Closed-toed shoes is preferable. And a hairband to tie your hair back if it is long. \nFor the exercises in misdirection:\nBring 5-8 coins in a comfortable size.\nAlso\, bring a few identical small objects that are comfortable to finger palm (maybe small rubber balls\, balls from Cups & Balls\, small toys\, marbles\, pebbles from the ground… anything).\nAnd one object that can act as a magic wand (a wand\, a drumstick\, a large pencil\, a stirring stick for drinks… something) \nFor the exercises in structure and routine construction:\nYou need to bring 3-5 simple and short tricks that you can perform. It does not need to be good or advanced (it can even be something from a magic set for kids). But they should be different\, not too similar. The purpose is to learn how to build the structure of a routine or an act\, so the nature and quality of the actual tricks are not important. The simpler the better. \nFor the final exercise:\n(Optional) It is not necessary or essential\, but you can bring 1-2 tricks or routines you are already working with. The last exercise is to apply as much as possible of the new knowledge on one of your own routines\, but the advice is to pick either something new that is in development\, or an old piece that you’re godawfully tired of\, rather than something that is in your active repertoire\, because most people are hesitant to change something they know works well as it is. The reason we say this is optional\, is because we’ve noticed that most tend to pick something they’ve come up with during the week. Yet\, it might be good to have something\, for peace of mind\, if nothing else. \nFor the creativity exercises:\nBring a small kit of your favorite solutions.\nIf you like to use magnets and strings to solve magic problems\, bring magnets and strings.\nIf you often solve magic problems by gluing stuff together; bring glue.\nIf you tend to use black art; bring black material.\n…\nAnd if you don’t have any favorite solutions to magic problems\, don’t worry; just bring yourself. \nMusic:\nFor some of the exercises you will likely want to add music\, so load up your devices with a good assortment of music in various moods; upbeat\, sad\, happy\, spooky\, dramatic\, soft\, rhythmic…et cetera. \nOpen Stage\nThis is just for fun\, but we’ll cap the total length of the show to 90 minutes\, to be sure the energy is kept up. You will get hundreds of ideas\, and any idea not written down will be instantly forgotten.\nYou will probably want to document some of the work you do\, so make sure you have plenty of free memory in your devices so you can film and photograph your ideas. One hour each day is dedicated to Documentation\, at 5 PM.\nIt might also be nice to share one’s notes with the group\, via some internet solution; Google Docs\, Dropbox… \nFor the propmaking classes:\nIt is good if you have clothes that you don’t have to be very careful with\, preferably clothes made of natural fibers (cotton\, linen…). Tight fitting clothes are better than loose fitting clothes that can can get caught in things. Closed-toed shoes is preferable. And a hairband to tie your hair back if it is long. \nFor the exercises in misdirection:\nBring a few coins in a size that is comfortable to you to palm.\nAlso\, bring a few identical small objects that are comfortable to finger palm (maybe small rubber balls\, balls from Cups & Balls\, small toys\, marbles\, pebbles from the ground… anything).\nAnd one object that can act as a magic wand (a wand\, a drumstick\, a large pencil\, a stirring stick for drinks… something) \nFor the exercises in structure and routine construction:\nYou need to bring 3-5 simple and short tricks that you can perform. Some might want to try out something new that have emerged during exercises\, others might want to show off something they enjoy performing. Still others might just want to relax and be entertained. To be in the Open Stage\, you sign up on a list during Thursday dinner. First come first served. \nSafe space\nWe have a good track record in creating safe spaces to experiment and be vulnerable in. One component in feeling safe\, is to know what to do in case something goes wrong. Please browse our harassment policy guide. \nFinally\nIn the evenings\, a make-shift pub will be open and the participants in the Conjuring workshops can socialize with each other. Improvised magic performances and sessions are very welcome. \nRegistration form\n \nThe cost for the 6 days will be around 8500 SEK (That is about $768 USD or 742 euro.). That includes lodging (single room) Monday-Saturday\, 6 meals/day\, and material costs for the propmaking class.Payment will be due at the end of April 2025. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n	\n \n Your Name (required)\n \n \n \n \n Your Email (required)\n \n \n \n	\n	\n \n Your phone (with country code)\n \n \n \n \n City & Country\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n	I need an extra night: July 26-27.\n \n\n\n	Optional: Additional info or questions.\n \n \n\n\n	Sign me up for the newsletter!\n\n \n\n\n Leave this field empty

SUMMARY:Trollerikurs för nybörjare 2025
Some might want to try out something new that have emerged during exercises\, others might want to show off something they enjoy performing. Still others might just want to relax and be entertained. To be in the Open Stage\, you sign up on a list during Thursday dinner. First come first served. \nFinally\nIn the evenings\, a make-shift pub will be open and the participants in the Conjuring workshops can socialize with each other. Improvised magic performances and sessions are very welcome. \nRegistration form\n \nThe cost for the 6 days is 8460 SEK (That is about $8460 USD or 8460 euro.). That includes lodging (single room) Monday-Saturday\, 6 meals/day\, and material costs for the propmaking class. \nThe cost for a share in a double room is slightly less; 7235 SEK ($7235 USD or 7235 euro.) for room\, meals and material costs. \nPayment for meals and room will be due in May 2024. \nIt is also possible to book extra nights\, if you arrive the day before the workshop\, or want to stay an extra day afterwards.\n\nSign up for our newsletter\, if you want to be informed about future workshops:\n \n\n\n\nLeave this field empty if you're human:

\nFinally\nIn the evenings\, a make-shift pub will be open and the participants in the Conjuring workshops can socialize with each other. Improvised magic performances and sessions are very welcome. \nRegistration form\nThe cost for the 6 days is 7750 SEK (That is about $7750 USD or 7750 euro.). That is for lodging and 5 meals/day – the course itself is free.\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n	\n \n Your Name (required)\n \n \n \n \n Your Email (required)\n \n \n \n	\n	\n \n Your phone (with country code)\n \n \n \n \n City & Country\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n	I need an extra night: July 26-27.\n \n\n\n	Optional: Additional info or questions.\n \n \n\n\n	Sign me up for the newsletter!\n\n \n\n\n Leave this field empty

SUMMARY:Dukar\, Streamers & Käppar
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is given in Swedish.\n“Hur gör man egentligen? \nAnmälning\nKursavgift 960 kr.\nDu får inbetalningsuppgifter efter du anmält dig.\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n	\n \n Ditt namn (required)\n \n \n \n \n Din e-post (required)\n \n \n \n	\n	\n \n Ditt telenr.\n \n \n \n	\n	\n Ytterligare info (ej obligatoriskt)\n \n \n	\n	\n Sign me up for the newsletter!\n \n \n \n	\n\n Leave this field empty\n \n \n\n\n\nThere is also the possibility of arranging this workshop elsewhere\, even in other countries\, if there’s enough interest.

You will get hundreds of ideas\, and any idea not written down will be instantly forgotten.\nYou will probably want to document some of the work you do\, so make sure you have plenty of free memory in your devices so you can film and photograph your ideas.\nIt might also be nice to share one’s notes with the group\, via some internet solution; Google Docs\, Dropbox… \nFor the exercises in misdirection:\nBring a few coins in a size that is comfortable to you to palm.\nAlso\, bring a few identical small objects that are comfortable to finger palm (maybe small rubber balls\, balls from Cups & Balls\, small toys\, marbles\, pebbles from the ground… anything).\nAnd one object that can act as a magic wand (a wand\, a drumstick\, a large pencil\, a stirring stick for drinks… something) \nFor the exercises in structure and routine construction:\nYou need to bring 3-5 simple and short tricks that you can perform. \nFinally\nIn the evenings\, a make-shift pub will be open and the participants in the Conjuring workshops can socialize with each other. Improvised magic performances and sessions are very welcome. \nRegistration form\n\n\nSingle room + meals. Price:5500 SEK. That is about $5500 USD or 5500 euro.\nExtra night (Sunday-Monday) with breakfast. Price:695 SEK. That is about $695 USD or 695 euro.\n\n\nSince there are limited places\, this form is not binding until it is confirmed that you have a place. \nMax amount of participants: 16.\nThe course is full

\nFinally\nIn the evenings\, a make-shift pub will be open and the participants in the Conjuring workshops can socialize with each other. Improvised magic performances and sessions are very welcome. \nRegistration form\n\n\nSharing a room + meals. Price:4500 SEK. That is about $4500 USD or 4500 euro.\nSingle room + meals. Price:5000 SEK. That is about $5000 USD or 5000 euro.\n\n\nSince there are limited places\, this form is not binding until it is confirmed that you have a place.

SUMMARY:Art of Magic - Berlin
DESCRIPTION:A workshop on how to create new magic effects and magic routines.\nRequired prerequisite knowledge: General knowledge about conjuring. \nThe Art of Magic workshop have so far been given in Sweden\, Norway\, England\, USA. It is primarily meant for long time professionals but is suitable for anyone who desire to take their magic a step further. Through a series of in-depth practical exercises (which often are hilarious and exciting)\, you’ll be led to re-examine and question old ‘truths’\, get a better grasp of the techniques that makes magic deceptive and dramatic\, and get your passion for the art rekindled. Not to mention that you’ll discover that you possess a creativity that you didn’t think you had.\nNone of the exercises rely on dexterity or sleight of hand. \nLanguage: English \nIf you want to ask former participants questions\, to figure out if this might be for you\, several can be reached through this Facebook page. \nInstructor\nYour instructor is the Swedish magician Tom Stone\, recipient of the Creative Fellowship award 2015\, and author of several books on innovative magic. Tom is well versed in the magic theory and the practical performance craft\, and his teaching method is fun and enabling. \nSchedule\nMonday\, August 12 \n\n09:00 – 10:00 – Workshop: The Effect!\n10:00 – 12:00 – Workshop: Dramatic & narrative tools\n12:00 – 13:00 – Lunch. \n13:00 – 14:00 – Workshop: Misdirection á la Ramsay.\n14:00 – 16:00 – Workshop: The Science & Crossing the Gaze.\n\nTuesday\, August 13 \n\n09:00 – 10:00 – Workshop: Deceptive Structures A\n10:00 – 12:00 – Workshop: Deceptive Structures B\n12:00 – 13:00 – Lunch.\n13:00 – 14:00 – Workshop: Deceptive Structures C\n14:00 – 16:00 – Workshop: Motion Vectors\n\nWednesday\, August 14 \n\n09:00 – 12:00 – Bringing it all together.\n09:00 – 12:00 – Applications in your own work\n12:00 – 13:00 – Lunch.\n13:00 – 14:00 – Performance.\n14:00 – 15:00 – Evaluation.\n\nLearning objective: On completion of the workshop\, the student should: \n\nBe able to practice and apply misdirection\, dramatic techniques and non-linear methods.\nBe able to confidently work with the brainstorming process in relation to any given theme.\nBe able to cogently discuss\, research and experiment with colleagues in both magic and related artistic fields.\n\n\nGuidelines\nIn general:\nMake sure you have pen and notepad. You will get hundreds of ideas\, and any idea not written down will be instantly forgotten.\nYou will probably want to document some of the work you do\, so make sure you have plenty of free memory in your devices so you can film and photograph your ideas.\nA good idea is that all participants collaborate with the notes and create a mutual document afterwards. \nExercises in misdirection:\nBring a few coins in a size that is comfortable to you to palm.\nAlso\, bring a few identical small objects that are comfortable to finger palm (maybe small rubber balls\, balls from Cups & Balls\, small toys\, marbles\, pebbles from the ground… anything).\nAnd one object that can act as a magic wand (a wand\, a drumstick\, a large pencil\, a stirring stick for drinks… something). \nExercises in structure and routine construction:\nYou need to bring 2-3 simple and short tricks that you can perform. It does not need to be good or advanced tricks\, it can even be something from a magic set for kids. But they should be different\, not too similar. The purpose is to learn how to build the structure of a routine or an act\, so the nature and quality of the actual tricks are not important. SUMMARY:Conjuring 2019
DESCRIPTION:This is a 5 day hands-on workshop in conjuring. There will be loads of exercises in misdirection\, dramatic and deceptive structure\, as well as in prop making. We will examine magic theories\, apply them and discuss them in the context of performances. The course is suitable for those with moderate experience as well as experts. We will work from early morning to late night and you’ll find it both challenging and rewarding. \nThe workshop is led by Tom Stone\, who is the author of several technical books on conjuring arts\, as well as a performer\, consultant\, speaker\, creator and teacher of the subject. He was awarded the 2015 Creative Fellowship by the Academy of Magical Arts. \nFor the lessons in propmaking\, you will meet Johan Davidsson. Johan is is long time craft teacher with specialisation in historical crafts.\nHe has been teaching craft workshops since 2001\, in woodworking\, leather craft\, silversmithing\, textile arts to name a few. \nThe workshop is given twice this summer\, since the interest was very high in 2018.\nThe first time is during week 31 (July 29 to August 2). You are welcome to perform. Audience: Laypeople from the other courses\n…The bar is open.\n\nFriday \n8.00 Breakfast.\n9.00 Exercise: Bringing it all together.\n10:30 Fika.\n11:00 Exercise: Applications in your own work.\n12:00 Lunch\n13:00 Final performances\n14:00 Final evaluation\n15:00 Final Fika.\n\nLoose guidelines.\nThe following are just advice\, not rules or demands. \nIn general:\nMake sure you have pen and notepad. You will get hundreds of ideas\, and any idea not written down will be instantly forgotten.\nYou will probably want to document some of the work you do\, so make sure you have plenty of free memory in your devices so you can film and photograph your ideas.\nIt might also be nice to share one’s notes with the group\, via some internet solution; Google Docs\, Dropbox… \nFor the propmaking classes:\nIt is good if you have clothes that you don’t have to be very careful with\, preferably clothes made of natural fibers (cotton\, linen…). \nFinally\nOn the school\, besides the Conjuring workshop\, there are several other workshops at the same time (in writing\, photographing\, painting..). In the evenings\, a make-shift pub will be open and the participants in all the workshops can socialize with each other. Improvised magic performances and sessions are very welcome.

Om det blir internationella deltagare kommer workshopen ges på Engelska.\nThis 3 day workshop is conducted in English (unless all participants are Norwegians).\nRequired prerequisite knowledge: A general knowledge about conjuring.\nInstructor: Tom Stone. \nSchedule\nFriday\, February 1 \n\n09:00 – 10:00 – Workshop: The Effect!\n10:00 – 12:00 – Workshop: Dramatic tools\n12:00 – 13:00 – Lunch.\n13:00 – 16:00 – Workshop: Misdirection.\n\nSaturday\, February 2 \n\n09:00 – 12:00 – Workshop: Deceptive Structure\n12:00 – 13:00 – Lunch.\n13:00 – 16:00 – Workshop: Motion Vectors\n\nSunday\, February 3 \n\n09:00 – 12:00 – Workshop: Applications\n12:00 – 13:00 – Lunch.\n13:00 – 14:00 – Final Performances.\n14:00 – 15:00 – Evaluation.\n\nLearning objective: On completion of the workshop\, the student should: \n\nBe able to practice and apply misdirection\, dramatic techniques and non-linear methods.\nBe able to confidently work with the brainstorming process in relation to any given theme.\nBe able to cogently discuss\, research and experiment with colleagues in both magic and related artistic fields.\n\n\nGuidelines\nIn general:\nMake sure you have pen and notepad. The simpler the better. \nCreativity exercises:\nBring a small kit of your favorite solutions.\nIf you like to use magnets and strings to solve magic problems\, bring magnets and strings.\nIf you often solve magic problems by gluing stuff together; bring glue.\nIf you tend to use black art; bring black material.\nAnd if you don’t have any favorite solutions to magic problems\, don’t worry; just bring yourself. \nApplication:\nOn the last day you will apply all the new knowledge on your own material\, so bring a trick or routine you want to work on. Preferably\, choose either a very old routine that you’ve become awfully tired of and want to breath new life into\, or a rather new piece that you still are in the process of figuring out. \nMusic:\nFor some of the exercises you will likely want to add music\, so load up your devices with a good assortment of music in various moods; upbeat\, sad\, happy\, spooky\, dramatic\, soft\, rhythmic… \nVenue\nThe workshop is held in Oslo\, Norway. The exact locale have not been set yet. \nLimited seats\nThe workshop is limited to 12 attendees\, and the seats tend to go fast. \nLodging\nYou will need to arrange lodging on your own. \nCancelation policy\nIf you cancel before January 25\, you will get the full amount reimbursed.\nA cancelation January 25 or later\, but before the January 31\, you will get 50% returned.\nCancelation on January 31 or later\, no reimbursment. \nPrice:5800 SEK.
