SUMMARY:Actors' training for Magicians
DESCRIPTION:Inställt pga Covid-19. \nInformation SvenskaKursen förutsätter generella förkunskaper. Om det blir internationella deltagare kommer workshopen presenteras på Engelska.\nThis 2 day workshop is conducted in English (unless all participants are Swedes). \nRequired prerequisite knowledge: General knowledge about conjuring and performing on stage.  \nHow good are your acting skills really? \nYou might think that you know what you are communicating on stage\, but do you really know for sure? \nActing skills is not something that just appear when you need it. Instead\, you have to train acting techniques just as much as your magic techniques – maybe even more – if you want to be good at it. This is a chance to enhance your acting.  \nThis is a two day workshop where you will be guided through some basic actor’s training\, like impulse training\, focus\, rhythm and tempo shifting. All with an eye on how it relates to magic performances. \nLearning objective\nOn completion of the workshop\, the student should: \n\nHave a better understanding of what they express on stage.\nHave the tools to enhance their stage presence\nPossess and understand some of the tools needed to practice acting skills and how to apply them in magic.\n\n \n \nInstructor\nYour instructor is Leif Olberius\, a trained actor and magician who have had his own theater company. Leif is currently the main director for the experimental magic show Mystique\, and this is two examples of his work:\n\n \nSchedule\nMonday Mars 16 \n\n09:00 – 12:00 Workshop: Actors’ training\n12:00 – 13:00 Lunch\n13:00 – 16:00 Workshop: Acting technique in a magic performance\n\nTuesday Mars 17 \n\n09:00 – 12:00 Workshop: Actors’ training\n12:00 – 13:00 Lunch\n13:00 – 15:00 Workshop: Acting technique in a magic performance\n15:00 – 16:00 Evaluation and summary\n\nGuidelines\nIn general:\nBe sure to wear comfortable clothes since some of the training is quite physical. Also\, please bring an extra pair of shoes that you can wear indoors.\nBring a pen and a notepad – you will learn things that you want to write down.\nIf you want to film or photograph the work you will be doing yourself\, bring a device for that.\nThere will be no filming allowed during the actors training sessions. \nActing technique in a magic performance:\nBring one (1) magic trick or routine for a small stage or parlour\, not longer than three minutes.\nWe don’t have space enough for illusions or big boxes. \nWorking space\nThe workshop will be held at Yxsmedsgränd 1 in Gamla Stan in Stockholm in a small theatre. \nLimited openings\nThe workshop is limited to 8 attendees\, and the spots tend to go fast. \nLodging\nYou will need to arrange lodging on your own\, the working space is right in the centre of Stockholm so you will have no problem finding hotels or AirBNBs nearby. \nCancelation policy\nIf you cancel before March 3\, you will get the full amount reimbursed. A cancelation March 3 or later\, but before March 10\, you will get 50% returned.\nCancellation on March 10 or later\, no reimbursement. \nPrice:2800 SEK. (About 2800 Euros)\nAfter registring below\, you will get an email with payment instructions. Registration is complete when payment have cleared.
