Character work for magicians

To playfully explore who we are on stage and find ways to enhance our magic through character is the goal of this 1 day workshop.
Originally this workshop was called ”Character for New Circus” and was developed for the Circus Department at Stockholm University of Arts.

Workshop topics:

We explore who the audience see when you perform magic, while applying techniques from theater and clowning. Through the exercises, you get practical tools to create character-driven magic & comedy material that works universally, across cultural and language barriers.

The workshop is divided into three parts.

  • Tools to connect you to your audience.
  • Exploration of your stage persona.

  • Tools to play with exaggerated stage characters.
