Magisk Scenkonst 2022
July 18, 2022 @ 10:00 - July 22, 2022 @ 15:00 CEST
A Workshop in Magie Nouvelle
Together the participants will be exploring the Magie Nouvelle movement in a five day workshop at Fridhems folkhögskola in Svalöv, Sweden. It will be a unique event and valuable for you if you are a performing magician or a cirkus/performance artist using pieces of magic or principles of magic in your act. Some basic magic knowledge will of course be helpful, but most important will be your passion and willingness to learn.
The teaching itself is free of charge for the course participant (it is financed through government grants). What you pay for is board and lodging. All meals have vegetarian alternatives.
Topics covered in the workshop
Face, Clown, Mind – Camouflage, Black-Art, Ligthing, Mirrors
Body, Mime, Mask – Illusion techniques, Boxes, Illusion devices
Puppetry, Object Manipulation, Dolls – Threads, Levitations, Animations.
Building a show, rehearsal, performance
Reflection, Learning, Furher learning goals, evaluations
Recurring themes will be: How can your performance benefit with knowledge from the other art fields present in the room? How can we use magic to further boost the audience experience? How do we integrate principles we use in your own performance. How can you use the topics covered when you innovate new effects ?
The workshop will be a massive Laboratory in cutting-edge Magic and Performing Arts, where the participants input together with the instructors input will create a powerful learning opportunity. We will create new instant effects and stage material that we will use to stage a public show for the final evening of the course.
We will talk a lot, perform a lot, try out new things and new strategies, hopefully make many mistakes, and absolutely have great fun!
You will meet prize-winning and internationally acclaimed Swedish magician Axel Adlercreutz, and well experienced learning coach Peter Rosengren from Malmö Magic Mafia, who both will guide you through an intense week-long learning session grounded in Axel Adlercreutz and Peter Rosengrens own stage and performance practices.
If the workshop get international participants, the lessons will be given in English. Otherwise in Swedish.
The participants will have the opportunity to get personal feedback on effects they are working on during evenings.
