Changes
What in the course is important to keep, and what is important to change?

The content was important although it could be changed so that we have more time to try and experiment with theories etc.
I found it very inspirational, and for me the hard part is to create something alone. It was far more easier during the course. So I would say the longer the better. But with m,agic, you need a lot of time to develop a skill/move/method. Maybe a “follow-up” course a little later would be good where you focus on something you started in the first course. But I think Magi 2 is something like what I just described.
Tom Stone’s lectures are just unbelievable! Also, group tasks were really really good! Magicians work so little in groups normally that it was amazing to innovate and brainstorm with other magicians in the course. Also, the lectures by the musician and by the dancer were great! Yeah, this may sound naive but I think the course was perfect!
It would have been nice if there had been more teachers to help with our own weekly projects. Now Tom Stone and Johan Ståhl were very busy with all the students.
I would keep everything. I wouldn’t spare anything that I learnt and lived to upcoming students.
Loved the uni rooms and the huge mirrors ! It was an amazing practice environment.
As mentioned before, I would have liked more reading material (maybe handouts?), and also, challenges that keep going after the course (via the FB group maybe?).
Learning to work with wood and metal, with tools to make our own props was fantastic and should certainly stay in the course. Theory being the core of the course should always be that way. Regular performances (for class-mates/public) should stay a part of the course as well as they give a motivation to strive toward. More technique practice wouldn’t hurt.
Keep everything. Add more.
More time would be beneficial.
To keep: Theoretical mornings and practical afternoons. Ted talks. Experts within different fields lecturing and teaching.
Maybe group evaluation of each lesson or atleast some breathing time between theorethical chunks of info..
Important to keep that the student have to perform, report and implement the thinks we lerned
Change the time. We can start later och work more hours
I would like more openness to bring ideas we already are working on into the course. I get that we should learn to be creative and make totally new routines, but I would love to work with the combination.
Also a 1 on 1 hour with either one or both the teachers would be fantastic.
Either to work on things the student has brought to the class or where the teacher is more direct on what they feel the student might be missing.I might be more open to this kind of critique then what is common, but honest and brutal constructive criticism is as fantastic thing when it comes from someone you respect to someone who welcomes it.
May some more literature and other inputs (see above). Otherwise, all should be kept in my opinion.
I think it to a large degree should be kept the way it is, apart from the small things noted above regarding literature and group work. I especially enjoyed the mini-TEDs we all had to do where we each gave of some knowledge we all had. The fact that everyone seemed so open and willing to share proves that the course leaders were able to also create a great amount of trust within the group.
