What are my wishes and desires for the future, in the context of this education? What would a good next step be?

Som jag nämnde att det borde vara längre eller med möjlighet till påbyggnad då det finns mycket att vinna på att förädla verktygen ännu mer
I think it is too early for me to have future wishes, I need to digest and practice the material I learnt, see it in action and application, how it fits into my tool set. After time I am sure I will have ideas what I wish next.
I would be very happy if I could attend an extended version of this course. I will definitely keep in touch with the fellow magicians of the course via Facebook.
Maybe to bring an act that you specificly are gonna work with during the week so that you can put every new thing learned in the act so it might be easier to remember if you can practise it when you get home. Could be something.
I would like to be able to continue studying the tools that Tom has introduced me to and have the opportunity to work them into the material I want to perform and develop. Additionally, I would like to contribute to unifying the language of magic so that we can call artistically communicate with each other to give good feedback, advice, and further the art.
Longer course. One of the best outcomes of the university course were the weekly routines. Sound & Silence and Motion & Stillness. That doesn’t feel possible to accomplish in 4 days.
In the future it would be nice to try to make a whole 30 minutes show during the weak. And the during the afternoon do small show about the context thst you hade made that day.
En fortsättningskurs skulle vara väldigt intressant. Där tänker jag att det skulle fortsätta som nu, men med mer fokus på att bygga sina egna rutiner. Innehållsmässigt skulle det säkerligen kunna byggas på och gå in mer på djupet på fler metoder samt mer skådespelartekniker m.m.
I hope the class size will not expand too much for the future as I fear a larger class may lose the one-on-one feel of the class I experienced. If Tom is up for it, his class is really valuable and the lessons are priceless…he should hold more classes! Maybe with different degrees of complexity?
I really would like that this course could be more often and long! And of course please keep open your doors for international students not only from Europe, but Russia also
I would like to continue working. I will try and find a formula for that and to give myself assignments to solve.
En fortsättningskurs för de som tidigare gått denna. En längre kurs till och med? Mer fokus på en individuell skapelse men med gruppstöd?
Creating new act and working on it. Maybe that’s an idea for you Tom, to gather smaller groups to work on their acts. Like 3-5 people. Working on particular act. Only for people who passed one of your “basic” courses.
Well of course a magic university course would be great! Baring that perhaps a step 2 for the ones that have taken course one, where we spend a week working on each others acts. Applying the base knowledge from course 1. Or perhaps some kind of brainstorming sessions. Where people are encouraged to meet up regularly or semi-regularly with alumni just to brainstorm. That is something we the students could and should get going ourselves though.
Perhaps an opportunity to analyse the work one has done in the groups to solve the different tasks. Sort of an intellectual step after the performance there it is necessary to look at the work one has done and think about it. Since giving and taking critique is difficult I would suggest that it’s done within the group that solved the task and some time after it was done. Letting the three people who solved the task discuss among themselves about different alternatives and how well the task was solved could be an interesting addition for more advanced courses.
First of all, applying all I’ve learnt in my work, but I’ll continue to develop and research even further.
On an individual level, to apply this knowledge in all my future work. On a general level and looking into the future of this course and this type of education, I’d say that a longer and more comprehensive program, with the possibility of individual feedback, is an attainable and sensible next step.

Det vore väldigt givande att gå den här typen av kurser regelbundet. Det är knappt så att det teoretiska innehållet behöver vara annorlunda, även om det vore kul med ännu fler koncept. Upplägget med slumpvis liten grupp och en uppgift med speciellt koncept och tema under stor tidspress är verkligen bra. Jag är nog för gammal, men det vore nog bra för trolleriet om det kunde få status som drama eller dans och kunna studeras “på riktigt” och under längre tid. Först kanske i en folkhögskolemiljö, men varför inte senare som akademisk utbildning. Många “workshops” borde nog också adoptera konceptet med att man faktiskt jobbar, och inte bara lyssnar och handlar.

I think perhaps have seminars in useful apps/technology that helps in performance
I’m not sure. I believe I can now go away and apply these techniques confidently to my work. For me personally I feel I need to now up my skill level and by using these techniques I can focus on this by applying the techniques I have applied over the course of the week.
I loved the open stage night were we all performed different pieces. I would love if there was such a place where we could create an open stage and community for ex participants in the course.
En fortsättnings kurs, en struktur för att fortsätta efter kursen. Kanske en sida där man samlat det vi lärt oss på kursen så att man kan gå tillbaka för att fördjupa sig (länkar, till böcker material, webbsidor, m.m)
Längre kurs med flera dagars arbete.
Kanske en distanskurs på 3 eller 4 veckolånga avsnitt med hemuppgifter emellan som gör det möjligt för yrkesverksamma artister att deltaga i.

Make the course longer and let people work on acts and stage acts, add acting clowning dance etc
The next step for me is to deconstruct the routines I am currently performing and apply the theory I learnt on the course to them to make them more natural and entertaining. I also have a long list of ideas that I wish to develop!
Jobba mer med magins ramar, tema, subbplot och allt som man inte lär sig på en vanlig “convention lecture”.
Adding on new techniques. Finding new ways to pull me out of my comfort zone.
We would like to do something similar in Hungary with my friends, or at least use element of this course in our clubs, workshops, etc.
En fortsättningskurs. Hitta ett sätt där vi som vill jobba vidare på det här sättet kan fortsätta med det olika träffar forum. Helg sammankomster där man kan jobba vidare och hjälpa varandra. Jag vill hitta sätt att fortsätta på det här arbetssättet.
It would be great to have a longer course on the subject of conjuring. I would love to participate.
