Bonus
I have found unexpected bonus value beyond the stated learning objectives.
1: I do not agree at all / 10: I agree completely

Meeting all this fine people from all over the world and discussing all different topics in a friendly manner reminds me only at my time as a student.
I think one surprise for me is the new friendships I’ve made. I look forward to remaining in contact with these other magicians in the future.
Meeting other magicians around the world and really spend time with them and get to know them was really beneficial in many ways. It helps me to understand other cultures better (making me a better person hopefully), It opened opportunities to perform internationally and formed a network of people you can ask for help and ideas for your magic process
The group experience and confidence that fulfilling the learning objectives grants was incredible, I have found that through completing the objectives I have gained a much better understanding of myself and abilities as well as the value of teamwork.
For instance: have a manuscript to read from, and how to do that in the best possible way.
Seeing how quickly one can create an act by simply throwing out an idea and then running with it was instructive.
The wonderful atmosphere and the fantastic people we met greatly contributed to achieving the above-mentioned goals.
It was a great experience. All I had imagined and more. Not just the skills listed in the schedule, but all the interaction with other people was great and is part of the workshop. To feel comfortable working in teams.
The workshop delivered far more than I initially anticipated. Beyond the stated learning objectives, I discovered unexpected bonus value that significantly enhanced my overall experience. One of the most rewarding aspects was the opportunity to meet and collaborate with new people who shared similar interests.
The high-pressure environment of the workshop acted as a catalyst, bringing out the best in participants. As they say, pressure creates diamonds, and this proved true in our case. Working under intense conditions not only improved our magical skills but also fostered rapid bonding and teamwork. This led to some truly remarkable outcomes that went beyond mere trick mastery.
These unexpected benefits – the connections formed, the lessons learned about performing under pressure, and the personal growth experienced – have added immense value to the workshop. They’ve contributed to my development not just as a magician, but as an individual, providing skills and experiences that will be valuable in many aspects of life.
I think a bonus thing was that all the participants in the course had such different backgrounds in magic. That the opportunity to learn new things regardless of whether it was from a teacher or participant was great. Another bonus was that the atmosphere was very relaxed, even though the course was very serious. Which meant that everyone could participate, even if you were nervous at the beginning. (At least that’s how I experienced it)
Probably the greatest benefit of the course is getting to know people from different countries and cultures. For me, it was incredibly beneficial to exchange ideas on a wide range of topics – from magic to politics. There was always a basis of trust and a genuine interest in understanding the other person’s perspective. I thought that was really great.
From a magician’s perspective, I found it an unexpected benefit to question what I had already learned and to review the terms and concepts that I had learned from Ascanio and Gabi Pareras.
I am a rather shy person. For me this week in itself, being with seventy strangers, was a challenge. On the end I felt very happy to get to know most of the people. It was a very pleasant and inspiring place to be in. I learned a lot about story telling by thinking about or investing more In details.
I made friends around the world. I was in a state of mind where I was pushed and where I could also push myself creatively without distraction. It was a beautiful and healthy environment which was so healing for my body, my mind, and my soul.
I made a lot of new friends and got greatly inspired!
In addition to the new ideas and concepts presented by the course instructor and material, each student brought techniques and approaches unique to both their culture and language. It was a pleasure learning new ways of doing slights and interacting with the audience.
Yes – Ottars lecture was a little of a surprise. Great hear and see
Absolutely, seeing how to effects in different ways…whether in status or speed, etc
For me, to spend time with other magicians of similar interests is the most valuable time. 🙂 Especially the women’s meeting this year was a success.
It was super super nice to work with all the wonderful people!!!
Nice to meet old friends and new people
My passion is comedy, but trying something silent without relying on the laughs was a nice change of pace.
There were a lot of topics that we discussed and learned about that went beyond the original learning objectives. These were still relevant and really valuable, so I think it was a wonderful thing. The teachers wanted us to gain a thorough understanding of the discussed topics and were not afraid to jump off the trails momentarily if a certain topic required more discussion.
Friends, and a lot of new information and tips from other magicians
The different nations that enjoy magic is wonderful and the joy of Fika is that you can rotate who you choose to have Fika with, meaning I expended out of my teaching group more this year.
Yes. We had lessons in areas I never expected to have during this week (Leif: puppetry and movement/dance). This was of great value to me, and was very, very fun! As I have attended the previous courses, the value gained such as getting time and help to develop an existing piece of mine was expected and not of surprise. It is still very valuable to get a day (or more!) to implement all concepts learned during the week to existing material.
Absolutely! The TED talks and specific sidetracks conversations took gave me at least as much new knowledge as the promised objectives.
Absolutely. As always, part of the magic happens in the collaboration with others. You learn so much from working with your peers and seeing how others approach the same type of content/material/exercise. I believe we all learned from each other as well as from the tutors.
The puppetry and adding opinions was really helpful as I could implement that in my magic immediately.
Really nice people and (hopefully) lasting friendships.
All the great conversations with our group. And other groups too.
Leif’s interaction/communication with objects was an eye-opener for me.
