The venue
The venue and the space was well suited for the course.
1: I do not agree at all / 10: I agree completely

Sleeping rooms are ok, food was really fine, the classrooms were excellent!
I thought the venue was excellent. There seemed to be plenty of space for everything. It was nice to have a big room that was an actual theatre. It seems like the perfect venue for this type of event. If I were to ask for a change, I would request a little bit more fruit at meals or fika.
Venue was great! Little bit of wear and tear here and there but everything worked. There were good variety of spaces for different uses, theatre for our performances, bar for open stage, rooms to work and study ect. Also the location is perfect, it absolutely couldn’t be better. Easy to come from airport still distant enough to have solitude for learning magic. Even the location at Sigtuna is perfect, not too far away from grocery store, but distant enough so people rather stay in than go for temptations of the town.
Sigtuna is perfect, the environment, food and location suit the course perfectly
I run out of toilet paper quite soon! Otherwise, the venue was good, and the food was a pleasant surprise. The staff was very helpful.
The surroundings were fantastic, and it was great that we stayed at the school. We jogged in the mornings and swam in the lake and sauna in the evenings. The food was rustic and good, and it was fun explaining the different dishes to the international guests. The highlight was the rhubarb pie, which required extra training the next day. The room was okay, though I would have preferred a higher standard for the shower, bed, pillow, and blanket. The course venue with the tiered seating was extremely well-suited for a magic course—just the right setup.
Totally. Lovely place.
The place is superb. Surrounded with Nature, the forest, the lake … From my window I had a beautiful lake view. I liked so much the space where we worked (group A, the auditorium in main building) for the shows, sometimes there weren’t the best sight lines. The food was so abundant, salty for my taste. Staff is so friendly. The room spacious. To change between buildings give the feeling of a real campus.
The location for this course was absolutely perfect. Its proximity to the airport made it incredibly convenient – just an easy Uber ride away, which took a lot of stress out of travel logistics. At the same time, being situated in the middle of “nowhere” turned out to be a significant advantage. This isolation meant that participants actually spent their time at the venue, focused on the course and each other, rather than being tempted to run off to the nearest pub or other distractions.
An interesting point of discussion among participants was the size of the rooms. They were quite small, but this actually turned out to be a positive aspect. We found that the rooms were primarily used just for sleeping, and their compact size discouraged retreating to them during free time. Had the rooms been larger and more inviting, it might have tempted us to isolate ourselves occasionally. Some friends and I actually discussed this, concluding that these were “the best rooms for this kind of event” precisely because they encouraged us to stay engaged with the group and the course activities.
We were treated like royalty throughout our stay. Everything was taken care of, so we didn’t have to worry about anything beyond our studies and practice. The abundance of fika (coffee breaks) and food available at all times ensured that we were always well-nourished and energized for our intensive learning sessions.
The study rooms were excellent, providing ideal spaces for both group work and lectures. Additionally, there was ample space available for individual practice or impromptu sessions with newfound friends. This variety of spaces supported different learning styles and allowed for both focused individual work and collaborative efforts.
As a Finn, I must add that I absolutely loved the opportunity to use the sauna (or bastu as the Swedes would say) anytime needed! This feature was a fantastic addition to the venue, providing a perfect way to relax and rejuvenate after intense learning sessions.
Overall, the venue’s layout and amenities fostered a sense of community among participants, encouraging us to spend time together outside of formal class hours. This contributed significantly to the networking and relationship-building aspects of the course, making it an ideal environment for this intensive learning experience.
The room was good, a bit tired as it often is in folk high schools, but good. Had some troublesome flies in the room, but in the middle of summer, near a lake, it was almost expected. The food was perfect. Barely met the staff, but those in the dining room were nice. The venue overall was good.
The room had everything I needed, the food was delicious and staff was very knowledgeable, friendly and approachable.
everything was above expectations
I LOVED my room. I want the same one next year, even. I loved how accessible town was and the outdoors were. The food was delicious, but I can admit, I was hoping for far more variety in what they served us. It was the same thing every morning, and I did get a bit tired of it. But that’s also because I love trying new food! The staff was fine- they didn’t particularly stand out in one way or another. The gym could use an upgrade, but the fact that there was a gym at all was a delightful surprise. I love the town of Sigtuna. I love how close the lake was. Maybe a mini fridge in the rooms could have been nice. But truly, it was one of the best weeks of my life, being there.
Room very basic, but enough – what I expected from this type of school facility. Food was super great!!! I like that you could eat as much as you wanted and choose from so many food items.
Yes, without question. The room was comfortable and well located. The staff was amazing and efficient and the food was good. I would like to see a little more variety in the breakfast meal. I would also recommend the facility set up a drink card system, where attendees purchase a set number of drinks in advance and get their card punched each time they order a drink. this way we dont have to run a credit card for each drink. I was drinking 1 or 2 cans of soda each day. If I had the option to purchase a prepaid card for 10 sodas, then they would only run me credit card once. Any left over “drinks” become tips for the staff.
Food was excellent, however the bar closed a little early 🙂 Room a was as expected
I liked working in the church this year because the chairs were more comfortable.
Bar should be open till 24.00. 😉
Room was great and comfortable. The food was fresh and both healthy options as well as comfort options. The staff are always helpful, unless you want something from the bar past 9 🙂 The course being at Sigtuna is a huge bonus. It’s a beautiful setting, makes it easy to get to courses, meals, and activities. It feels like an amazing adult summer camp.
The room was just big enough for a comfortable stay. The food was brilliant and the staff members were kind.
Everyone was very nice. We had more time to hang out as a group last year though, thanks to the area in front of the classroom A.
It was really great food and good fika! Heard everyone said the food was great and even sent an email to the venue saying how good it was. Would have been good, to know what the drinking laws allows. “I 6 kap. 4 § andra stycket alkohollagen finns en särskild bestämmelse om att serveringsställe måste vara utrymt senast 30 minuter efter serveringstidens utgång (stängningstid).” So would be nice to know where and what we can drink after the pub closes 🙂
My room this year was brilliant, it was en-suite. The food as normal was incredible, I don’t think I had the same Fika twice. The staff were also always helpful and the organisation at late notice of an additional nights stay was easily arranged.
Completely so.
The toilet of my room didn’t work and made terrible noise throughout the whole first night. The night was hell but the next morning I got a new room and everything worked. The food was delicious!
The rooms are simple but to the point: they have all that is needed – a bed, a desk and toilet. I really appreciate the food and the staff. I do have allergies, and I never felt unsafe of what to eat (or not). Might sound trivial, but it can often be a real issue if staff members don’t understand the severeness. So again: only good experience from Sigtuna! The class rooms and the facilities are also well suited for the course. There are dining rooms, a scene, big screens, tables, chairs, even a portable workshop can be set up. Much appreciated.
The room was fine, the food was amazing. Every time it was something different. The staff was friendly.
11/10 🙂
Everything.. top noch!
The bar ain’t open long enough.
