• Be able to practice and apply misdirection, dramatic techniques and non-linear methods.
• Be able to confidently work with the brainstorming process in relation to any given theme.
• Be able to cogently discuss, research and experiment with colleagues in both magic and related artistic fields.
Was the actual content of the course relevant to these learning objectives?

Comments
I walked into Tom’s workshop with no expectations. I honestly didn’t know what to expect. During the course of the workshop, we focused on focus, something I didn’t realize I was lacking in my magic. I would use humor to hide a move or a tough magic moment, but Tom showed that through a knowledgable use of crossing the gaze, and pulled focus, you don’t even need to speak to focus your audiences focus.
The content and objectives were an exact one-to-one match. Very clear. Very precise.
The course content was highly relevant to the course objectives.
The 3 day course provided all the correct information needed to achieve the objectives, I gained new knowledge on top of techniques that I already knew thereby giving me different perspectives. I would have liked for the course to have been longer to gain even more understanding.
Agreed, the learning outcomes matched the knowledge that i gained over the three days.
I’ll consider each objective individually: Be able to practice and apply misdirection, dramatic techniques and non-linear methods. * I definitely felt that I learnt to practice and apply these. Jumping straight into hands on experimenting was great for solidifying the learning in my mind. Be able to confidently work with the brainstorming process in relation to any given theme. * We played with creating under different and interesting themes. However I don’t recall spending any time on the brainstorming process. I’d have enjoyed exploring that area a bit more. We did create under themes within groups, but with such a short period of time we dispensed of brainstorming and jumped straight into the creating – this was awesome but perhaps some exploration of brainstorming would also have been useful. Be able to cogently discuss, research and experiment with colleagues in both magic and related artistic fields. * Discussion and experimenting was definitely covered. I felt that this happened naturally as part of the hands on parts of the course, and wasn’t explicitly taught (however I think that learning this naturally is perhaps far more effective). There was no time to research while in our groups.
I paid attention to what the learning objectives were before turning up on the course, and was interested to see whether and how they would be achieved. All of them were. The third objective – cogent discussion – is an important one for the art of magic. We lack a shared language for the aspects of magic that are concerned with theatrical performance. The course helps to address that. Perhaps the 3 objectives could be explicitly stated at the start of Day One, on a flipchart? To keep them in the front of participants’ minds?
The content and the exercise were perfect to implement the tools taught by the teacher. The hands-on approach and group work were a great way of applying the content and research and experiment with new ideas.
Everything was relevant and gave exsessive informatikk. Very impressed.
Jag var mycket nöjd med kursen! Över förväntan.
The course content was a detailed walk through of everything mentioned, and through exercises gave understanding of the principles taught.
The course met all my expectations. there is nothing I would have liked to be different
Väldigt nyttig och roliga övningar. Gjorde inte en ända tråkig övning
It was that and more. I believe we all gained confidence working with others and performing in front of, and for one another. We also got an insight into new techniques and skills that I believe I will take with me onto other projects, performances and my thinking in magic.
I only feelt that it was to short
All of the above is true. I learned a wide range of new techniques as well as theory and got to imrove certain skills.
