Challenges and stimulation
The course’s design, content and implementation stimulated me and/or challenged my previous knowledge in a constructive manner, and have had a positive effect on my artistic research & explorations.

100%. I’ve already begun to implement changes to my material. Not in broad strokes, but one thing at a time.
These are lessons I have attempted to learn before on my own with varying degrees of success. However, without the in-person guidance of an experienced magician such as Tom Stone I would have never thought to explore these ideas further.
I loved the course. In many ways it reignited my love of magic and gave me a renewed passion for the art. I wish I had done something like this years ago.
I was heavily stimulated by the course’s content and have been left pondering on magic with the same thought analysis taught throughout the workshop
Yes, and would like to see more examples of other magicians applying the theory in their own work, i.e. video clips of other performers in close up and stage.
The course contained a lot of theory and principles I have previously read about but not completely understood, or known how to practice or apply. These were things I’d always wanted to explore. The course was designed in a way to give me the application of the theories and immediately begin practicing and seeing it in use. Even parts of the course which were on ideas I’d worked with quite extensively previously provided me with significant new insights and challenges. The course has had such a positive effect on me and my explorations. I know its only been 2 days but I am still buzzing with excitement and inspiration. Trying to find ways to create teams to work with. Setting myself a goal and beginning work towards that.
Yes! 🙂 The level of challenge was very carefully managed over the three days. I was pleased that we were engaged in hands-on work from early on in the course, and was pleasantly surprised to find that it felt like jumping in to the ‘shallow end’ not the deep end. I had expected the level of challenge to be higher at the beginning – I was pleased that it was not. The first two exercises were very well chosen: not relying on skill and sleight of hand, but encouraging a willingness to play and explore. Another unexpected bonus: I hadn’t expected to come out of the course with an interest in developing my own novel effects (I had been happy to find my own way of performing other peoples’ effects). I’m now interested in researching and exploring my own path as well. I now feel that this is something I can do.
Definitely! It helped me to be more creative and not to be afraid to create new original ideas with a strong structure of how to create.
80% heard in some version before, 20% new. (Ramsey look up, focus bullseye, never go back to previous method-guess)
It stimulated me creativly and artisticly.
Man var delaktig hela tiden och blev utmanad med relevanta frågor hela tiden. Jag har verkligen höjt mig i mitt framträdande efter kursen!
Definitely! Many of the concepts taught I already knew from earlier studies. But having them explained live and then going through the exercises gave me an understanding of them unlike what I ever had before. And now it’s like a checklist I go through when working with my routines.
I hadn’t been practicing really for the past 4 years. this made me really enjoy magic again.
Jag hade lite förhoppning om att man skulle få greja lite mer med saker man hade med sig. Att få pyssla, bolla och lösa problem med hade.
The tasks make you think outside the box. They were extremely challenging. If I remember rightly the one behind principal was particularly challenging and there was disappointment for me when we did not achieve the task at hand. However this did not stop me from continuing and I believe I got a deeper understanding of what that principal was after discussing it. Actually this reminds me of another point, discussing stuff before and after each task was wonderful. Having the time to talk about what we have done rather than move quickly into the next task I think is essential. It actually helps to deepen our understanding of what we have just done and helps the techniques stick.
It was a creative energy boost.
Jag fick massor med ny ideer och blev inspirerad att jobba med mina nuvarande rutiner för att göra dem bättre
