Future
What are my wishes and desires for the future, in the context of this education? What would a good next step be?

I love the wiki page. I would have loved to have had a daily recap write up of what we learned, but I took notes, so… that would be redundant. I would love to attend another workshop, but that’s all on me. From the workshop standpoint, I cannot think of anything to change.
A good next step is to work very hard myself and my magic utilizing what I have learned and to check in with my classmates to ensure continued progress.
For me personally, I would like to see Tom Stone continue with his original research into audience perceptions and reactions. I’m especially keen to understand the logical fallacies that people apply to interpreting illusions as well as how people may misremember what they’ve experienced. This might have applications to Tom Stone’s theory of “a step behind” and may also have particular relevance to the performance of mentalism.
I guess my focus is more on improving individual tricks than the art of magic-that is just my perspective. It would have been nice to see Tom maybe doing a half hour show.
I would love to follow up on this course – applying the lessons to some routines and workshopping these intensively at a future event
I’d like to attained another course in London if happens again and to keep workshopping with other performers to gain knowledgable feedback
Create an act and invite the group to my performance.
Its very easy to attend a course, go home and then never apply any of what you learnt. I’ve done this before. My wish for the future is to begin working with these techniques immediately, to begin applying them piece by piece to effects I already perform or want to perform. To ensure that I don’t sit back and forget to apply these techniques I’ve decided to apply to join the magic circle, and to create a new act for my audition making use of the concepts and structures from this course. This gives me a goal with a looming deadline. I don’t feel certain of where the best place to start is: – Should I pick the effects I want to perform, then work on each effect individually and then work out how to structure them together, applying weaving – Should I pick the effects, structure them together, apply weaving, and then work through the individual effects and apply the concepts – Should I find a group of people to work with and begin working on something at random and see what happens? – Should I set a theme first and then begin creating within that theme? Now that I’m thinking of this, I do think it would have been useful for us to spend some more time discussing the next steps after the course has ended. I think the answer is probably to just start working and experimenting and see what my results are. Tweak and iterate as I go.
We have a Facebook group for this course. What about a Facebook group for ‘Students of Tom Stone’? As well as the small course group, to have a group where all your students can connect over time, and build up the shared language? Perhaps a two or three day masterclass for graduates of your course. This time bring a routine (10-18 minutes) and work on that over the course of several days, using what we have already learned as a starting point, and perhaps including some new ideas (eg an exercise on music, on a non-speaking part, on scripting…)
Patter, acting and stage performance tools.
Next step for me would be more coaching. Feks bring Your ACT and Get hjelp to improve. But this mat be another Product
Perhapse elaborate on the motion vectors and crossing the gave while I believe these can be expanded on to great dpeth. Perhapse also extending the lecture to further days so more time can be dedicated.
Min förhoppning är att jag kan trolla mer med influenser från kursen. Jag fick många idéer som jag tagit med mig och jag har börjat använda några av dem.
Me and some of the students have talked about meeting up. Maybe organise some brainstorming sessions with alumni-students could be a good idea. The occasional challenge posted in the group like Tom did I also found very fun and useful.
I will try to get to the next seminar when it gets off.
Att man hade gått en uppföljningskurs för det som man gick igenom i kursen.
That there’s a second one soon! I’d love something like this but for competitions.
Att jag ska ta mig tid att inventera alla mina trick. Kanske sätta ihop en act. Trolla mera och oftare.
Hmmm this is difficult as I’m not sure. Maybe working through a whole routine. Bringing a routine each and working on it taking it apart and putting it back together? I’m really not sure.i know we get to do this on the final day but perhaps with more experienced performers who have a routine that they have performed could bebworkshopoed by thebwhoem group. Though this might be impossible. Perhaps developing particular skills, acting in magic, mixing genres if it’s possible.
Use on my magic every time use in my mentorship everytime
I would very much like a similiar course that goes even further in depth as far as the psychology of misdirection goes. The stuff about inattentional blindness is fascinating!
Kanske få nya utmaningar i form av att skapa något utifrån ett tema.
