Contributions
I am satisfied with my own contributions in the work during the course. Please give examples of how you contributed in the group.
1: I do not agree at all / 10: I agree completely

Collaboration with others is tough outside of an improv comedy troupe (especially since I am used to being a solo performer). I felt that as a *magician,* I had the most stage experience, my classmate Tom had great magic knowledge and facial emotions that could change the world, and our other classmate Christian (a self admitted “amateur”) may have had the least magic knowledge, but he took to the coursework and became a better performer as a result. I noticed his eye focus and misdirection were leaps and bounds better by the end of day 3. I never wanted to steamroll over an idea or be overbearing, so it was nice to be able to be in a collective mind-meld where no idea was “stupid,”
I felt that my largest contributions to the group were mostly in the realm of dramatic structure and stagecraft. Some more minor contributions included my suggestions and use of “non-standard” props. However, I wish I had a more fully developed routine for the final presentation.
I was the least advanced in the course. But Tom Stone and my fellow students really helped me contribute. Moreover, Tom Stone’s approach to magic shows how the simplest methods can be presented to create the most amazing effects.
The regular exercises gave ample opportunity to contribute and felt that I had a good chance to contribute throughout
I enjoyed working with other members of the group on their acts and the exercises. I was only too happy to help out with the filming too.
I’m generally quite a shy performer. I like to perform very casually and conversationally for just a couple of people. I was amazed by how quickly I felt comfortable to perform in a style I’d usually avoid. I was really pleased with that. I was pleased with my contributions to discussions and proud when watching back some of the videos and identifying ideas which I’d suggested that seem to work well. I was amazed by how well we all created performance pieces within tiny amounts of time! I also felt pleased with my contributions when working with other people on their individual effects, it was great to see their ideas and work with them to create something that they were feeling satisfied with. Giving feedback on when something wasn’t working and finding ways to solve it. At a lot of lectures I’ve been to I often feel a bit awkward about asking (potentially silly) questions, but I didn’t feel that way here, and asked all of the questions that I felt were needed to ensure I understood.
I was happy with my level of contribution to the group. I tried to be positive and supportive to the efforts of others, to appreciate their magic and their intentions in the pieces they presented. Where I offered feedback I aimed to be appreciative, and to offer only one or two ideas for improvement and not to worry if they were not acted on. I felt able to share my own experiences at the end of exercises and identify what I had learned. Also to be open about my own level of experience and progress in magic (which was less than some others in the group). I worked to support others in the group exercises: sometimes playing a ‘leading’ role, sometimes supporting from off-stage.
I loved the group work and how we managed to create original routines with small little time. I brought an idea to improve it, and I loved the result! From a very basic routine with a vague idea to a more developed and clear routine. Very satisfied!
I focused a lot on why and how does the coin vanish. The reason for putting it in the other hand. Does my story have anything not fitting in with the story.
I tried to contribute as good as I could and I feel it created good dialogue.
Jag är nöjd med min insats och dem tankarna jag bidrog med. Alla inklusive mig fick ju bidra och skapa små rutiner/shower till alla uppgifterna.
I did add my own perspective like everyone else. Pickpocketing, a preference for psychology and comedy. But what I found myself do quite a lot was keeping my teammates focused on the goal of the exercise when we went of track. I’d never thought I would have that role, and that was a new experience in itself.
I’m very pleased. I understand and write in English. but when I speak English I think I focus more on it. therefore perhaps my own participation was a bit off
first I found myself easily leaning on old material but Tom helped pushing me forward.
Jag kände mig tyvärr oförberedd delvis eftersom jag kom direkt från en annan resa. Jag borde haft med mig mer rekvisita/tricks.
I really enjoyed taking part in the workshop thoroughly and enjoyed working with others I feel for me this is the most enjoyable part of these workshops and is worth the fee alone. The fact you get to work with others. We are magicians never get this time. This time is precious and reminds us that this needs to happen more. I did feel because I’ve already taken part in previous workshops that i wanted to take a back seat in terms of directing the group’s I was working in. Which I find difficult to do. However, this is all part of working in a team and learning new skills. But where I could I contributed my knowledge and tried to be positive and constructive to everyone in the group.
Thinking out of the box was probebly my contribution to the group
Not being a competent card magician I felt I sometimes contributed by looking at things from a different angle, sometimes it felt like I hindered things by not being as proficient as others.
